Welcome to Amicus Curiae Psychological and Coaching Services (ACPCS)

At ACPCS, our mission aligns with the meaning of “Amicus Curiae” – “Friend of the Court.” We support families, couples, youths, and children through legal and emotional challenges with compassion and expertise. While we are not Officers of the Court, we uphold values of integrity, professionalism, and justice. Our role is to provide psychological and coaching services that aid in navigating complex legal situations, aiming for therapeutic justice and overall well-being.

Understanding Therapeutic Justice
Therapeutic Justice recognizes that traditional legal processes often overlook the emotional and psychological needs of those involved. We integrate psychological support and coaching into the legal process to promote healing and positive outcomes, ensuring that justice is experienced holistically.

Real-Life Applications
For couples going through divorce, Therapeutic Justice may be achieved by offering counselling to resolve emotional conflicts and to facilitate amicable agreements. For youths involved in custody disputes between parents, therapeutic support helps them adapt to new family dynamics. Child representation ensures children’s voices are heard, prioritizing their well-being.

Our multidisciplinary team, including lawyers, psychologists, coaches, and other professionals, collaborates to achieve therapeutically just outcomes, addressing the legal and emotional, and sometimes financial, aspects of family disputes.

Collaborative Practice focuses on collaboration over conflict, encouraging all parties – clients, lawyers, psychologists, coaches, and others – to work together towards mutually beneficial resolutions. At ACPCS, we advocate for Collaborative Practice, embracing principles of mutual respect, transparency, problem-solving, and commitment to resolution. By integrating Collaborative Practice, we create a supportive environment that leads to more satisfying and sustainable outcomes for families, couples, youths, and children involved in court proceedings.
